As part of a full renovation of a beach shack in Bilinga on the Gold Coast, this bathroom was completely reimagined from the ground up. The space was stripped back to the studs following asbestos removal, with further structural challenges uncovered when the existing flooring was removed and found to have no proper concrete slab beneath.

Rather than seeing these discoveries as setbacks, they presented an opportunity to rethink the layout. By reclaiming space from the adjoining hallway, the bathroom footprint was slightly expanded to create a more comfortable and functional layout.

The finished space features terrazzo tiles, warm timber joinery and brushed brass fixtures, creating a soft, coastal palette that feels relaxed, contemporary and perfectly suited to its beachside setting.
